Position Overview The Project Coordinator to support the execution of automation, capital, and equipment installation projects at the Guayama site. This role will be responsible for coordinating cross-functional activities, managing project schedules, supporting procurement processes, and ensuring alignment between engineering, automation, vendors, and site stakeholders. The position plays a key role in supporting capital project execution, equipment upgrades, and new installations, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and in compliance with GMP and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate automation and capital project activities across Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Maintenance, and Supply Chain
Support execution of equipment installations, upgrades, and commissioning activities
Manage and track project schedules, milestones, and deliverables to ensure timely execution
Coordinate with external vendors, contractors, and suppliers to align project scope, timelines, and deliverables
Support procurement and purchasing activities, including requisitions, follow-ups, and vendor communication
Assist in the development and tracking of capital project budgets and cost control activities
Facilitate communication between internal stakeholders and project teams to ensure alignment on priorities and execution
Track and report project progress, risks, and issues, escalating when necessary
Support preparation and coordination of project documentation, reports, and presentations
Ensure projects comply with GMP, safety standards, and internal procedures
Participate in project meetings, site walkdowns, and coordination sessions
Support startup, commissioning, and qualification activities for new equipment and systems
Automation & Technical Coordination
Coordinate activities related to automation systems, PLCs, instrumentation, and control systems
Support troubleshooting and implementation of automation improvements and system upgrades
Work with engineering teams on integration of automation systems into manufacturing processes
Assist in coordinating testing, validation, and commissioning of automated systems
Capital Projects Support
Support planning and execution of capital projects including facilities, utilities, packaging, and manufacturing systems
Assist in the development of project scope, timelines, and execution strategies
Coordinate installation of new equipment and upgrades to existing systems
Track project KPIs and support performance reporting and continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial) or related field
Minimum 2–5 years of experience in project coordination, engineering support, or capital projects in a manufacturing environment
Experience in pharmaceutical, medical device, or regulated industries (GMP) preferred
Exposure to automation systems, equipment installation, and engineering projects
Technical Skills
Knowledge of project management tools and scheduling (MS Project, Excel, etc.)
Basic understanding of automation systems (PLCs, instrumentation, control systems)
Familiarity with capital project execution and engineering lifecycle
Understanding of GMP and regulated environments
