We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Draftsman to support the Building Management Services team in updating and developing infrastructure utility plans across a range of facilities. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in AutoCAD and a background in utility drawings (water, electricity, fire alarm, piping systems). The role includes conducting assessments, creating new drawings from scratch, updating existing plans (Red Lines), and supporting the digitalization of hard copy plans.
Develop and design detailed drawings in AutoCAD for utility systems, including water, electricity, fire alarms, and piping.
Perform Red Line updates, identifying unrecorded or undocumented piping systems in existing drawings.
Conduct field assessments in areas where no existing plans are available, including buildings constructed circa 1972.
Create as-built drawings based on site assessments and measurements.
Verify and update existing drawings using both digital and hard copy sources.
Support the digitalization process of legacy (hard copy) plans.
Utilize modern detection tools (e.g., infrared, laser technology) to identify existing underground or concealed piping.
Collaborate closely with the in-house draftsman who will oversee and guide the work.
Follow a phased approach: Phase 1 – Site Assessment; Phase 2 – Implementation and Drawing Development.
Proven experience as a Draftsman with strong proficiency in AutoCAD.
Prior experience working with utility systems (water, electrical, fire alarms, etc.).
Ability to read, interpret, and update engineering drawings and blueprints.
Familiarity with on-site verification methods and tools (infrared, laser, etc.).
Comfortable working in environments with limited or no existing documentation.
Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong communication skills and ability to follow direction from supervisory staff.
