QC Process Improvement Specialist

mirus Consulting Group is a local company based in Humacao, Puerto Rico that provides computer system validation and information technology consulting services to pharmaceutical companies and other organizations across the Island and parts of the United States. Its services include the assessment and validation of automation equipment, network infrastructures and business processes, as well as the involved project management.

Project Overview:
The goal of this project is to assess the current capacity of the QC laboratory to ensure that it is aligned with production demands, identifies bottlenecks, and recommends improvements for operational efficiency. The assessment should consider current workflows, resource utilization, and laboratory equipment capabilities.

Objectives:
1. Evaluate and analyze the current capacity of the QC laboratory.
2. Identify any bottlenecks or inefficiencies in current processes.
3. Recommend optimal resource allocation and process improvements.
4. Provide a report detailing findings and suggestions for capacity enhancement.

Responsibilities:
1. Gather existing data regarding current laboratory processes, including workflows, turnaround times, and equipment utilization rates.
2. Gain insights through measurements and observations of the current operations.
3. Review historical data concerning output, sample load, and testing times.
- Capacity Analysis
1. Analyze the collected data to determine the current throughput capacity of the laboratory.
2. Identify peak workload periods and corresponding resource demands.
3. Perform a detailed examination of the equipment capability and constraints.
- Bottleneck Identification
1. Identify inefficiencies and bottlenecks in the laboratory operations.
2. Evaluate the impact of identified bottlenecks on overall laboratory capacity and performance.
- Recommendations
1. Develop action plan to improve laboratory capacity and efficiency.
2. Propose improvements in workflow optimization, resource allocation, and use of technology.
- Reporting
1. Prepare a comprehensive report summarizing findings, analyses, and recommendations.
2. Present findings to laboratory management and key stakeholders.

Deliverables
The following deliverables are expected at the end of the project:

1. Data Collection Plan
2. Capacity Assessment Report, including:
a. Current throughput capacity analysis
b. Bottleneck findings.
c. Recommendations for improvement

The project is expected should include the following gateways: 
• Data Collection Plan Development 
• Data Collection and Initial Analysis
• Capacity Analysis and Bottleneck Identification
• Develop Recommendations
• Drafting of Report and Final Presentation

Requirements: 
1. A degree in Industrial Engineering, Quality Assurance, or a related field.
2. Proven experience in process analysis and capacity assessment.
3. Knowledge of Lean Methodology and Lean Lab concept.
4. Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis.
5. Excellent communication and presentation skills.
