Automation Technician

Its services include the assessment and validation of automation equipment, network infrastructures and business processes, as well as the involved project management.


Job Description
  • Maintains repairs and improves multi-function high-speed automatic production equipment. Drive and assist with the design, programming, development, and improvement of new and existing production equipment troubleshooting, repair, and adjust all types of production equipment. 
  • This resource will support the Packaging and Inspection area and will support the control systems maintenance activities, spare parts and day-to-day technical support activities
  • Troubleshoot, debug, modify and repair all electronic/electrical devices and associated controls used on high-speed automated assembly equipment.
  • Use computer and associated software to troubleshoot, debug, modify, and repair all speed automated assembly equipment.
  • Program and document PLC’s and peripheral devices as necessary to improve OEE components, including Motion Profiling, Machine Vision Inspection, Operator Interfaces, and Associated I/O.
  • Determine difference between mechanical and electrical failures and work with Mechanics to troubleshoot, debug and repair high-speed automated assembly equipment.
  • Develop, in conjunction with other departments such as R&D, Regulatory Affairs, Manufacturing, QA, and Engineering among others, the required processes.
  • Work, together with the corresponding departments, in order to successfully deploy automation changes or projects.
  • Comply with all local, state, federal and GMP’s and applies soundly all QA principals.
  • Provide continuity to the solution of technical problems in production equipment.
  • Analyze the preventive maintenance of production equipments.
  • Provide feedback to maintenance group regarding spare parts requirements.
  • Maintain proper procedure of clean-up tools while performing duties in production areas. Keep current on any specification changes, equipment modifications, department procedures and any other changes which affect performance.
  • Active participation in Lean activities.
  • Maintain an open line of communication to assure all problems or changes are communicated and resolve in a timely manner.
  • As applicable, make suggestions for improving product quality and equipment. Collaborate with supervision, engineering and other personnel on quality and performance improvements as request.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education:
  • Associate Degree in Electronic or Industrial Mechanic. Engineering courses desirable. Able to read, write and understand English.
Experience:
  • Two (2) years in Automation Engineering experience. 
  • Needs to apply principles of logical thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Interprets drawings and technical instructions and requirements in clear, effective manner.
